I met Swept into decay and Shards beneath my skin
[Edit]I had the pleasure of attending the Harbingers of the Abyss Tour 2026 in Prague. I’d had a pretty rough week, so this seemed like the best way to let off some steam and man, what a good idea that was.
The venue was really nice and they served some great beer. The show itself was incredible. I love seeing smaller and local bands because the energy is always so fresh and vivid.
I had the honor of chatting with the vocalist of Swept into Decay. He’s a chill, distinguished dude. I had so many questions about how he learned his vocal technique.
He told me about his beginnings during COVID and mentioned his vocal role model was Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence. At some point, he decided to fix the lack of “core” bands in Ostrava, so he assembled the band. Ostrava should be grateful to be the hometown of such a dedicated group.
I also had some quick small talk with the vocalist of Shards Beneath My Skin. When I asked him if he had a vocal role model, he didn’t hesitate: Dickie Allen.
After the show, the bands were taking pictures together, so I managed to snag my own.
